About ONE MOTHER of a RUN: 16 Years of Running with Heart (and Aloha!)
Since 2011, ONE MOTHER of a RUN has been Lodi's premier Mother's Day weekend tradition—a tribute to strong moms, epic runs, and unbreakable community bonds. What started as a quirky 5K has grown into a beloved annual bash with over 600 strong, raising funds for the Lodi Optimist Club.
For our 16th edition on May 9, 2026, we're trading neon leg warmers for flower garlands and channeling pure Hawaiian magic. Picture this: A luau-inspired morning where runners channel ancient warriors, families picnic under the sun, and everyone leaves with a lei around their neck and a story in their heart.

Scenic Routes: Our courses blend Midwest charm with island dreams—
think gentle lakeside paths for the 5K, rugged "volcano" hills for the 11-miler, and a flat, fun sprint for keiki.
Family-Friendly Vibes: Kids' race, stroller-friendly options, and a post-event luau with Hawaiian treats (poke bowls, anyone?).
Community Power: 100% volunteer-run, with cheers from neighbors in grass skirts and signs saying "Mahalo, Mama!"

The ONE MOTHER OF A RUN is the #1 fundraiser for the Lodi Optimist Club, dedicated to Bringing Out the Best in Kids. The Club supports local youth groups, keeping costs low for families, and encouraging more kids to get involved in positive activities. This aligns perfectly with the goals of Activate Lodi, which organizes the event. Activate Lodi, a group of community members and businesses, aims to create opportunities to be active, get outdoors, and provide education and activities for all ages and ability levels. Together, we champion the mottos: Be Active. Be Healthy. Be Happy.

Lodi is home of Susie the Duck, who makes a home on our Spring Creek running through the heart of Lodi. Come visit this historic small town nestled in the countryside of rolling hills, beautiful pastures and ice age trails. We are home to unique shops offering something for everyone.
Lodi and the surrounding townships have much to offer the traveler whether you are driving through, spending a day, or staying a week. We are lucky to be on Lake Wisconsin, near the famous Merrimac Ferry and Devil's Lake. Our community is rural in nature, but rich in heritage.
